Description
Vintage original advertising piece, probably from the 1930's, for Nash, Willys-Knight, Whippet and International. The sign was advertising for the Stow Brothers in Rising Sun, Indiana. This cardboard sign, prominently featuring an elk, has a pouch at the bottom that held free calendars given away by the dealership. It was made by the Vevay Calendar Works in Vevay, Indiana. The sign measures ~23.5" tall x 9.5" wide.
This is a very rare piece, as it came with many calendars, but only one calendar holder!
The sign does show wear typical of age. A few of the antlers have broken tips. Colors have faded and the sign originally had a glittery snow on it. You can still see the white where it was at, but the sparkle is gone.
It is a miracle that this cardboard piece has survived in any condition, and it may be the only one of its kind left! It is a great piece of history for an automobile enthusiast, or someone who collects historical pieces from Rising Sun, Indiana.
