Vintage Face Powder POMPEIAN “Rachel No. 1”, Cardboard UNOPENED.
This design was introduced by the company in 1935. It features a red sphere like the sun on which were placed columns characteristic of Pompeii.
One of 4 offered shades, Rachel No 1 is noted to be a “nude” tone.
Box is in excellent vintage condition. It appears that a sample of the shade was taped to the bottom of the box long ago.
Box measures 1 5/8 in x 3 1/8 in.
Box is full, powder is sealed by a thin but generally secure and taut paper cap. There are a few tiny punctures in the cap (see photo #4) and a tiny bit of powder can leak out. Smells divine.
Great display piece.
