Jug. Silver. Madrid, 1853.
With contrast marks and initial property.
Silver jug in its color that presents a flat handle with decoration of simplified plant elements alternating smooth backgrounds with other “matte” between two lines and elevated shape in an upward curve, large mouth and prolonged in soft forward beak, body with different lines organized in three registers, and simple foot. The decoration, clearly influenced by the Neoclassicist (as are the lines of the piece) is in thin bands, and shows a vegetal and architectural theme. Recorded under the "peak", there are the three initials of ownership, and, near, the contrast marks. You can clearly see those of Madrid (Villa and Corte) with the date of the year under two shields; between the two appears the third, of the silversmith. This model can be found with slight variations in the production of the Royal Martinez Platería Factory in Madrid, and was later retaken by Juan Sellán.
