Estate fresh authentic Imperial Nicholas Military Academy Badge, worn by officers of the general staff. Phenomenally crafted in silver, the obverse consisting of a richly-detailed oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie ribbon, overlaid by a Romanov imperial eagle clutching an orb and sceptre, its wings overlaid by eight shields bearing regional coats of arms, with a central shield bearing the coat of arms of Moscow within a collar of the Order of St. Andrew. The reverse with a backplate and wing nut meeting a screw emanating from the obverse of the badge, maker marked and in beautiful condition with only slight rubbing toward the centre.
