50 OLD 7/16" 19TH C SQUARE SHANK BRASS TACKS CROW KNIFE SHEATH TOMAHAWK HANDLE

Up for your consideration comes this GROUP OF 50 OLD, RARE AND ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BRASS TACKS. THESE ARE VERY EARLY TO MID 19TH CENTURY 1800-1850's. THESE SQUARE SHANK BRASS TRADE TACKS ARE CORRECT FOR PIPE, TOMAHAWK HANDLES, AND PLAINS KNIFE SHEATH AND MUCH MORE. This is a less common size to find as most are smaller. The Indians used these to decorate many items. The earliest trade tacks were made of solid cast brass with brass square tapered shanks and where traded by the Hudson Bay Company, North West Trade Company and others. These are 100% authentic. Dome top heads that measure aprox 7/16" + or - 1/32", depends on the way the head is turned when measuring.Also some have what I will call a hanging chad as seen in photos. These can be filed off or touched on a grinder if a person wanted to. I would leave as is because they are original and the way they came out of the casting mold. PATINA IS HEAVY MAY VARY, SOME DARKER WITH AGE.  SEE ALL PHOTOS for measurements as well as description. These are early to mid 19th century and there are no two identical carbon copies, all average the same size and some have irregular edges.
